Michael “Mike” D. Good, 67, of Cedar Falls, died peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Western Home’s Nation Cottage.

Mike was born October 22, 1958, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of John “Jack” and Darlene (Foster) Good. He graduated from Hawkeye Community College with a degree in Electronics. On March 25, 1985, Mike married the love of his life, Melody Schulz, in Las Vegas. Mike was a full-time dad, helping raise their two children while taking care of the home. He also worked as a bartender for a number of years.

Mike was someone who knew how to have a good time and made sure those around him did too. He was a connoisseur of beer and wine and enjoyed watching football, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He also had a competitive side, placing bets on sporting events and buying scratch-off tickets.

Mike is survived by his wife of 41 years, Melody Good; children, Benjamin Good and Sydney (James) Euchner; granddaughters, Bo Charlotte and Sophie James Euchner; mother, Darlene Simon; step-mother, Carole Good; brothers, Jack (Deva) Good, Tim (Michele) Good, Dustin (Anne) Good and Steve (Amy) Simon; sister, Jodi (Jim) Krebsbach; step-sister, Theresea (Gary) Calhoun; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; step-father, Kenny Simon; and nephew, Matthew Krebsbach.

Mike’s celebration of life will be held at 11am, Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with visitation an hour prior, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Please join the family for a reception immediately following the service downstairs in the funeral home Reflection Room. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Mike’s family for future designation.
