Jacob Wharton

Jacob "Jake" Wharton, 46, of Cedar Falls, died at home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.  He was born July 8, 1975 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Jim and Stina (Johnsson) Wharton.  Jake attended Orchard Hill School, Peet Jr. High School and graduated from Cedar Falls High School.  He received a business degree from the University of Northern Iowa.  Jake married Stephanie Schmitt in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2005, they later divorced.

He is survived by his two sons, Wesley J. and Reece J. Wharton, both of Clear Lake, Iowa; his parents, Jim and Stina Wharton, of Cedar Falls, and his sister, Vicki Wharton, of Cedar Falls.

Jake was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roscoe and Harriet Wharton, and his maternal grandparents, Lennart and Ruth Johnsson.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, with visitation one hour before service.  The service will be live-streamed at https://evt.live/jacob-wharton .  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
