Darlene was the consummate farmer's wife who tended a huge garden, and kept an immaculate lawn. She was a perfect hostess known for feeding (well) anyone who came to their house. Hospitality was her love language and some of her last thoughts were of preparations for the Thanksgiving meal. Darlene patiently and lovingly cared for Peter in his later years. She was a hard worker who never complained.  In her rare leisure time, Darlene was an avid Hawkeye fan and enjoyed doing puzzles.  Her faith was strong and anchored in her Lord and Savior her entire life.
