Charles "Chuck" Yokem

Charles L. "Chuck" Yokem, 66, of Cedar Falls, died Friday, March 18, 2022, at Manor Care in Waterloo.  He was born October 31, 1955 in Pittsfield, IL, the son of Jesse D. and Betty (Kattelman) Yokem.  Chuck married Julianna "Julie" Nielsen on March 12, 1983 in Cedar Falls.  She preceded him in death on February 4, 2019.  Chuck attended Cedar Falls High School and worked at Benton Sand & Gravel (Assink's) for many years.

He is survived by his children, Jeremy (Melissa Abernathy) Yokem and Shelby (Jasmine) Yokem, both of Cedar Falls, and Jennifer Dickens of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Jonah, Mackenzie & Alina, Brayden, Keegan & Trayton, and Dorian & Royce; his sister, Grace "Amy" (Matt) Shook, of Janesville, IA; his brother, Carl Yokem, of Cedar Falls; his mother-in-law, Judy Nielsen, of Cedar Falls, and his sister-in-law, Susan (Richard) Booth, of Cedar Falls.

Chuck was preceded in death by his wife and parents; brothers, Jesse and Craig Yokem; a sister, Jodie Gutknecht; father-in-law, Allen Nielsen; sister-in-law, Vicki Yokem, and brother-in-law, Steven Nielsen.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 25, 2022, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with burial at Hillside Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.  Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Thursday, and one hour before service, at the funeral home.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.  Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
