WILMA L. (Bockhaus) MUELLER, was born August 4, 1913 near Frederika, Iowa, the daughter of August and Louise (Bergman) Bockhaus. She graduated from Frederika High School in 1932. Wilma married Louie E. Mueller June 23, 1935, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. She and Louie farmed in Bremer County forty-two years. They retired in 1977 and moved to Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 12, 1997. Wilma died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at her home in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at the age of 89 years.
Wilma is survived by three daughters, Wanda (Sylvester) Van Hove of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Kendra (Gary) Warner and Lois (Tom) Washington, both of Seattle, Washington; eight grandchildren, Lori Van Hove and Lynelle Stahlhut, Todd and Brad Warner, and Tim, Daniel, Molly and Brian Washington; three great-grandchildren, Benjamin Ness, and Daniel and Lydia Stahlhut; one sister, Vera Warnke of Grinnell, Iowa and one brother, Ray Bockhaus of Cedar Falls, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, Leola Wendt; and two brothers, Elmer and Clarence Bockhaus.
Funeral services were 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003 at Nazareth Lutheran Church with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
