Wilma May Boger, 85, of Aplington, passed away at Grundy County Hospital on Friday, February 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 7, 1939, in New Hartford, Iowa, daughter of Earl and Maxine (Brennan) Minikus.  Wilma graduated from Cedar Falls High School with the Class of 1957. She attended Pitze's School of Beauty to earn her cosmetology license.  Wilma married Richard Jay Boger on September 16, 1961, in Clay, South Dakota. She was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker with all the accompanying responsibilities.

Wilma enjoyed gardening, reading and doing her nails. She liked to play cards and watch true crime and westerns on the rare occasions she could be found at home. Wilma LOVED to be on the go! With an eye for a bargain, she'd head to town for a day of grocery shopping that included stops at the stores with the best price for each of the items on her list. Wilma liked to shop for clothes when she was younger, but once she became a grandma she cherished looking for gifts for her grandbabies. She and Dick liked to travel with family and would go anywhere her loved ones would be. A gifted cook, Wilma ensured no one left her home hungry. Her famous potato salad was a staple at family gatherings, friends' weddings, and other special occasions. Her door was always open, inviting friends and family to share a cup of coffee and good conversation. Together, she and Dick raised and bred Yorkshire Terriers and Bichon Frise puppies, adding extra joy to their lives.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Dick; siblings: Earlene Howard and Marvin Minikus; half-sister, Angela; step-brother, Jerry; and her sweet yorkie, Pinsey. She is survived by her daughters: Peggy (Monte) Luck of Stout, Lynette (Lance) Uhlenhopp of Aplington, Cindy (Dana) Luck of Stout, Kathy (Shawn) Hagedorn of Janesville and Susan (Russell) Rand of Wellsburg; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, with 4 more on the way; her brothers, Lee (Carol) and Gene (Cindy) Minikus; half siblings: Gary (Michelle), Jeff (Brody), Larry, Brenda (Brian); step-siblings: Connie, Peggy (Keith) and Lacretia; her sister-in-law, Sharon Luppen of Rock Island, Illinois; many beloved nieces, nephews and extended family members; and her beloved yorkie, Bubba.
