Willis H. Glenn, 83, of Cedar Falls, died of natural causes, Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Windhaven Assisted Living Center, Cedar Falls. Willis was born February 25, 1931 in Olin, Iowa, the son of Victor & Rose (Dusanek) Glenn. He married Carolyn Cousins September 9, 1956, at Olin, Iowa. She preceded him in death March 11, 2013. Willis served in the United States Army and farmed in the Olin area for many years. He was a member of the Iowa Cattleman's Association, the Iowa Nut Grower's Association, 4H, Olin Historical Society and the Olin and St. Timothys United Methodist Churches. Survivors include two daughters, Jaymee (David) Glenn-Burns of Cedar Falls and Ann Grove of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Allyn Glenn-Burns of Cedar Falls, Cecilia (fiancée Richard Niesen)Grove of Bettendorf, Iowa and Magee Glenn-Burns of Cedar Falls. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; one granddaughter, Katie Rose Glenn-Burns; a brother, Calvin Glenn, and a sister in infancy. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at St. Timothys United Methodist Church. A memorial fund will be established. Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com. Willis was a conservationist, lifelong learner, inventor, patent holder and the Windridge unofficial historian. He had a strong sense of humor and encouraged people to grow and improve themselves.
