William E Nelson

William Edwin Nelson, Jr., 69, died Wednesday, August 18, 2010, at his home in Cedar Falls.  He was born July 25, 1941 in Charles City, Iowa, the son of William Edward and Frances Irma (Schultz) Nelson.  William married Phyllis Ohrt on June 13, 1966 in New Hampton, Iowa.  He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.  William was a carpenter and auto mechanic in Charles City and later worked for a short time at Winnebago Industries in Forest City.  He retired from Viking Pump Company in 2004 after twenty-seven years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Nelson, of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Marie Ann (Scott) Minard of Forsyth, Missouri; a son, Cord Will (Sarah) Nelson, of Waterloo; four grandchildren, and a brother, John (Kathy) Nelson, of Thompson, Iowa.

William was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Tom Nelson, and a sister, Margaret Conry.
