WILLIAM BURKE "BILL" LYON, 88, of Waterloo, died Saturday, June 9, 2007, at Ravenwood Nursing & Rehab Center in Waterloo. He was born February 2, 1919 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of William Burke Lyon, Sr. and Jessiman May "Jessie" Bonly Lyon. Bill provided janitorial services at several metropolitan businesses. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Waterloo. Bill enjoyed knitting and crocheting, as well as music and visiting with his friends.
Survivors include several cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters, Geraldine "Jerry" Schmock, Mary Jane DeVene, Shirley Dean and Bonnie Yonda.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Waterloo.
