William Goettsch

William "Bill" Goettsch, 66, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo, Iowa. Bill was born November 17, 1948, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Robert William & Deloris (Hites) Goettsch. He married Lynn Munyer September 7, 1985 in Cedar Falls. Bill graduated from Waverly-Shell Rock High School in 1967, Ellsworth Junior College in Iowa Falls, and then Iowa State University in 1972, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed in the inspection department at John Deere, retiring December 31, 2003, after 30 years of employment. Survivors include his wife, Lynn Goettsch, of Cedar Falls; his mother, Deloris Goettsch, of Waterloo; his sister, Lynn A. (Stephen) Brase, of Plainfield, Iowa, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father and his father and mother in law, Fred & Eleanor Munyer. Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial at 2:30 p.m. at Highland Home Cemetery, Ledyard, Iowa. Visitation will be from 3 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, and one hour prior to service Monday at the funeral home. A memorial fund will be established. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com. Bill was a life enthusiast. His biggest passions were his R C Planes, genealogy, and his books.
