WILLIAM J. FARBER, 93, of Waterloo died Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Allen Memorial Hospital. William was born December 18, 1913 in Berkeley, California the son of Franklin Pierce and Catherine (Campbell) Farber. He graduated from Berkeley High School in 1932 and received his BA in 1941 from Humboldt State University in Arcada, California and his MA in 1955 from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. William served in the United States Marine Corps from 1941 to 45. He received the rank of Second Lt.. He married Dorothy H, Hermann on June 18, 1945 at Jacksonville, North Carolina. She preceded him death on September 12, 2003.  William taught Mathematics in Junior High at Independence, Iowa for 37 years.

He is survived by two sons, Charles Farber of Roseville, Minnesota and George (Gail) Farber of Waterloo; two daughters, Elizabeth C. and Martha R. Farber both of Waterloo; one grand daughter, Gwen Farber of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; two brothers, and Franklin and Merril Farber and one sister Ella Marie Van Heuit.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007, at Bethany Bible Chapel in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and one hour before services at Bethany Bible Chapel. Burial will be in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery in Waterloo. Memorials may be directed to Gideon International, Bethany Bible Chapel and Friendship Village.
