WILLIAM "BILL" JUDSON BLAKESLEY, 81, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at home on Tuesday, November 22, 2005, of complications of Alzheimer's disease. Bill was born November 19, 1924 in Independence, Missouri, the son of Raymond & Bessie (Whities) Blakesley. He married Lois Mae Pearson November 28, 1953 in Manly, Iowa. Bill was in the U.S. Army and served with the 141st Anti-Aircraft Battalion in the European Theatre. This included England, Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany. Bill was employed as a plumber-steamfitter-welder, having worked on many large construction projects in the metropolitan area. He retired in 1986. He was past president and treasurer of Local #384-125, Plumbers and Pipefitters, where he was a 50 year member. Survivors include his wife, Lois Mae Blakesley of Waterloo; five sons, Jim (Gayle) Blakesley Lichman of FonDuLac, Wisconsin, Rick (Barb) Blakesley Lichman of Muskego, Wisconsin, Bruce (Kim) Blakesley of Cedar Falls, Eric Blakesley of Waterloo, and Roger (Diane) Blakesley of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Marsha (Terry) Blakesley Moorman of Boone, Iowa and Claudia (Pat) Blakesley Campbell of Cedar Falls; 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Virginia) Blakesley of Mason City, Iowa; one sister, Mary (Jerry) Fleming of Phoenix, Arizona and many other extended family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Vern, Clarence, Ray, George and Stanley Blakesley. Funeral services were 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 26, at the United Church of Christ, 9204 University Ave, Cedar Falls, with interment in Greenwood Cemetery.  Full Military Rites were conducted by Cedar Falls AMVET Post 49. A memorial fund will be established.
