WENDELL W. PECK, 81, of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home died Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at the Lutheran Home. He was born April 12, 1925 the son of William S. and Grace (Byington) Peck at La Porte City, Iowa. He graduated from La Porte City High School in 1944. Wendell married Irene Osmundson April 17, 1955 at Ossian, Iowa. She preceded him in death October 27, 1996. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army Medical Corps. Wendell retired from Rath Packing Co. in 1982 and then became owner and operator of the Black Hawk Village Self Service Laundry, retiring in 1996.
Wendell is survived by two sons. Steven K. Peck of St. Paul, Minnesota and Jeffrey D. ( Jane) Peck of Cedar Falls, Iowa; one daughter, Kathryn ( Daniel) Foertsch of Algona, Iowa and three grandchildren, Makayla and Matthew Foertsch and Emily Peck.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one brother, Forrest Glen Peck.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Saturday July 15, 2006, with burial in Cedar Valley Memorial Garden Cemetery both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday, July 14 at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
