Wayne Davis

Wayne Eugene Davis, 82, of Cedar Falls died Friday, August 7, 2015, at Western Home Communities Windhaven. He was born September 28, 1932 in Packwood, Iowa the son of Lewis A. and Bessie A. (Davis) Davis. Wayne graduated from Fairfield High School in 1951. He married Nancy Joan Earley September 6, 1953 in Fairfield, Iowa. He attended Iowa State University for two years and graduated from University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce in 1958. Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He worked as a district manager for Osco Drug for thirty five years and retired in 1993. He is survived by his wife Nancy Davis, of Cedar Falls; one son, Mike Davis, of Marshalltown; two daughters, Tina (Greg) Drinkut, of Palm Bay, Florida, and Tam Davis, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Doris Roland and Geneva (Rodger) McWhirter, both of Burlington, Mary Chapuis, of Cedar Rapids, and Barbara Taylor, of Fairfield. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Dale Davis; two sisters, Juanita Schafer and Bernice Durfey. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield, Iowa with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, also in Fairfield.
