Walton J Sorenson

WALTON J. SORENSON was born October 23, 1915 at Evan, Minnesota, the son of John and Lena (Dalluge) Sorenson. He married Margaret Place February 27, 1941 at Emmetsburg, Iowa. He attended elementary and high school in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. Before his retirement he farmed in the Graettinger-Ringsted area. Walton died Monday, September 23, 2002, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home at the age of 86 years.

Walton is survived by his wife, Margaret of Cedar Falls; one son John (Carol) Sorenson of Waterloo; two daughters, Mary (Doug) Glasnapp, Lawrence, Kansas and Carol Sorenson, Pleasant Hill, Iowa; four grandchildren, James and Jason Glasnapp, Michael and Rachel Sorenson; five sisters, Phyllis Knudson and Betty Highdale both of Battle Lake, Minnesota, Shirley Wilson, Orange, California, Kay Donna Phillips, Yucca Valley California and DeLoris Kelley, Santa Anna, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Lavern Sorenson and one sister, Ivadell Chapman.

Funeral services were 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Chapel with visitation for an hour before service time at the Lutheran Home. Further visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Martin Matice Funeral Home in Emmetsburg, Iowa with a Graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Evergreen Cemetery in Emmetsburg.
