WALLACE W. "WALLY" HILL
was born August 9, 1917 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Carl D. and Vita M. (Billings) Hill. He married Dorothy M. Wyatt on September 9, 1938 in Chicago, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 23, 1987. Wally worked at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, Iowa for many years. He also worked at the Firestone Store in downtown Cedar Falls and for John Deere & Company in Waterloo for 26 years, retiring from Dept. 65 in December of 1979. Wally died Sunday, November 17, 2002, at his home in Waterloo, at 85 years of age.
He is survived by his daughter, Judy L. (Jack) Thompson of Waterloo; two grandchildren, Darcy (Brian) Smith and Wade Thompson, all of Waterloo, and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Caitlin and Dalton, all of Waterloo. Wally was preceded in death by his wife and parents, and two sisters, Phyllis Harders and Betty Clark.
Graveside committal services were 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2002, at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the family.
