VONEE HEIL WOGENS was born September 1, 1913 in Savanna, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Leo and Grace (Parr) Heil. She married Carroll A. "Chick" Wogens on November 29, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1990. Vonee was a secretary at the University of Northern Iowa for many years, and was an active member of Tri-T, Alpha Phi Society and the Cedar Falls Woman's Club. She died Saturday, May 26, 2001 at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, at 87 years of age.
Vonee is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl Budlong of Cedar Falls and Charlene Davis of Columbia, South Carolina, and four grandchildren, Blair, Ryan, Austin and Scott Budlong. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
Memorial services were 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2001 at St. John Lutheran Church, with inurnment at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church and the Salvation Army.
