Virginia P Tjebkes

Virginia Tjebkes, 83, of Waterloo, died Friday, June 24, 2011, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. She was born September 15, 1927 in Cedar Falls, the daughter of Alfred and Lillian (Claus) Jacobsen. Virginia married Albert L. Tjebkes August 10, 1947 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death August 27, 2010.  Virginia was a registered nurse and worked for Allen Hospital for over thirty years.

She is survived by one son, Steven Tjebkes of Waterloo; two daughters, Judy (Dennis) Gondek of Mt. Vernon, Iowa and Pamela Tjebkes of Waterloo, four grandchildren, Joshua (Vickie) Gondek, Jacob (Julie) Gondek, Monica (Dennis) Jarchow and Holly Dorwin; five great grandchildren, Jack and Jena Jarchow, Nathan, Nicholas and Sara Gondek.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two sisters, Margaret Jungling and Evelyn Lehman.

Services will be 10:30 am Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at Grace Reformed Church in Waterloo, with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 pm Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, Cedar Falls, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church.
