Virginia Hodek

Virginia Hodek, 93, passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 in St. George, Utah. She was born July 11, 1921 in Chicago, Illinois to James and Sophia Zettek. She married Laddie Hodek in Cicero, Illinois on May 2, 1942. They were happily married for 45 years. Virginia lived in Berwyn, Illinois and Cedar Falls, Iowa prior to moving to St. George, Utah in 1997. She was a great cook, talented seamstress, loved traveling and playing cards. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church and St. George Catholic Church. Virginia is survived by her three children: Diane Burns (Robert) of St. George, Utah; Larry Hodek (Jean) of Westmont, Ilinois; and Janet Hodek of St. George, Utah. She has six grandchildren: Larry Miller, Jane Kressin, Julie Hodek, Eric Hodek, Kris Erickson, and Jacque Hackbarth. Virginia also has nine great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Friday, July 18, beginning at 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Cedar Falls, Iowa. Funeral services in Cedar Falls, Iowa provided by Dahl-Van Hove- Schoof Funeral Home.
