Virgil Lynn Wolf

Virgil Lynn Wolf, 73, of Brandon, Iowa, died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. He was born November 2, 1943 in Urbana, Iowa, the son of Virgil and Della (O'Donnell) Wolf. Virgil was a horse trainer for many years, retiring in 1995.

Virgil is survived by his three daughters, Marty (Kim) Gjere of St. Louis, Missouri, Kelly (Brian) Schatzberg of Islamorada, Florida and Carey Wolf of Oro Valley, Arizona; six grandchildren, Josie (Brian) Coleman, Jacob (Melina) Schatzberg, Jason (Claire) Gjere, Jessica Gjere, Kole Wolf and Marisa (Colton) Johnson; nine great grandchildren, Jude, Ashton and Parker Coleman, Jaylynn and Harper Schatzberg, Connor and Macy Gjere, Brayden Gosney and Daniel Johnson; two brothers, Jack (Denise) Wolf of Brandon and Wayne (Kathie) Wolf of Coralville, Iowa, and six sisters, Dorothy (Raymond) Lund of Michigan, Donna Kramer of La Porte City, Iowa, Margaret (Pat) Sloan of Des Moines, Iowa, and Linda (Ronnie) Pries, Kathy (Lee) Jewett and Patty (Ronnie) Peters, all of La Porte City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bernard Wolf, and a sister, Bonnie Wolf.
