Virgil V Samec

Virgil V. Samec, 69, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City. He was born January 22, 1941 at Cresco, Iowa, the son of Alois and Adela (Hosek) Samec. Virgil married Marlene Arndt June 28, 1961 at Maple Leaf, Iowa. She preceded him in death December 15, 2000.  Virgil was an antique collector and dealer for many years.

He is survived by three sons, Roger (Teresa) Samec of New Hartford, Dean Samec of Stevensville, Montana, and David Samec of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Jesse Samec, Drew Samec, Morgan Samec and Mitchell Samec; a brother, Jerome (Bonnie) Samec of Manley, and two sisters, Delores (Kenny) Nehl of New Hampton and Darlene (Matt) Andera of Calmar.

Virgil was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 1, 2010, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with inurnment at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.  Memorials may be directed to the family.  Online condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
