Virgil L Dralle

Virgil Louis Wilholm Fritz Dralle, 86, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. He was born April 21, 1923 in West Point Township, Butler County, Greene, Iowa, the son of William F. and Rosa M. (Schilling) Dralle. He was baptized at St. John's Lutheran Church, Vilmar, Iowa. Virgil married Margret Siedenberg on October 17, 1953 in the Verden Lutheran Dom, Verden a/d Aller, Niedersachsen, Germany. She preceded him in death on December 12, 1998. Virgil served in the United States Army during WW II. He retired from Chamberlain Manufacturing Corporation in Waterloo after 28 years of employment. Virgil was past treasurer of D. A. N. K. (German American National Congress).

Survivors include two sons, Kurt Dralle of Waterloo, Iowa and Erik Dralle of Evergreen, Colorado; three daughters, Kirsten (Wyatt) Schultz of Cedar Rapids, Sigrid (Dan) Dralle-Allen of Waterloo, Wisconsin and Barbara (Peter Suci) Dralle of Bozeman, Montana, and four grandchildren, Hannah Dralle-Allen, Aron Dralle-Suci, Cale Dralle-Allen, and Lester Dralle-Suci.

Virgil was preceded in death by his wife and parents.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009 at St. John Lutheran Church, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
