Vincent N. Delagardelle, 88, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at UnityPoint Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He was born July 12, 1925 in Gilbertville, Iowa, the son of John J. and Irene (Huberty) Delagardelle. Vincent married Mary Frost on August 22, 1944 in Raymond, Iowa. He farmed for fifty-five years, retiring in 2000. Vincent was a fifty-seven year member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and served on the church parish council. He was a rural fireman for the city of Cedar Falls, a member of Farm Bureau, the Iowa Cattleman's Association, the Iowa Corn & Soybean Association, and the Black Hawk Soil Conservation Board. Survivors include his wife, Mary Delagardelle, of Cedar Falls; two sons, David (Beth) Delagardelle of Waterloo and Wayne Delagardelle of Cedar Falls; four daughters, Anita (Phillip) Destival of Sumner, Iowa, Marlys (Russ) Fischels of Independence, Iowa, Annette (Dale) Montross of Dallas, Texas and Joy (Jeff) Campbell of Ridgeway, Iowa; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; two brothers, Julius Delagardelle of Gilbertville and Norbert (Mary) Delagardelle of Dunkerton, Iowa, and two sisters, Donna Lutgen of Kansas City, Missouri and Theresa (Peter) Brustkern of Jesup, Iowa. Vincent was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael Delagardelle; a daughter, Jolene Miller; a son-in-law, Dean Miller, and a brother-in-law, Ron Lutgen. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 47:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 7:00 p.m. Rosary Service will be conducted. Visitation also one hour before service at the church.
