VERNON E. OEHLER was born August 4, 1931 in Cedar Falls, Iowa, the son of Melvin and Helen (Noltensmeier) Oehler. He married Mary Campbell on August 30, 1952 in Cedar Falls and worked for Continental Baking Company in Waterloo, Iowa for a number of years, retiring in 1994. Vernon died Sunday, August 30, 1998 at his home in Cedar Falls at 67 years of age.
He is survived by his wife Mary; his children, Peggy J. Fuller, Laurie A. Trager, Connie J. Oehler and Lonnie E. Oehler, all of Cedar Falls, David W. Oehler of Carlisle, Iowa and Stephen L. Oehler of Des Moines, Iowa; his six grandchildren, Shana Fuller, Travis Oehler, Tiana Oehler and Jordan, Shelbi and Lindsey Oehler.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles Oehler.
Services were held September 2, 1998 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Memorial fund to Cedar Valley Hospice or St. Patrick's Forward in Faith Fund.
