Verna Gibbs

Verna Mae Gibbs, 75, of New Hartford, died Thursday, February 16, 2012, at her home in New Hartford. She was born October 24, 1936 at Columbus, Nebraska the daughter of Frank Paul and Sybil Leona (Gotteschall) Boroviak. Verna married Roy Paul Gibbs August 15, 1953 in Waterloo. She was a LPN and worked for eight years at Windsor Care Center in Cedar Falls. Verna is survived by her husband Roy, of New Hartford; three sons, Les (Wendy) Gibbs, of Shell Rock, Jeff (Denise) Gibbs, of New Hartford, and David (Carie) Gibbs, of Kimberly, Wisconsin; four daughters, Kim (Bill) Otte, of Zimmerman, Minnesota, Sara (Alan) Tholl, of Claxton, Georgia, Lisa (Matt) Verbeck, of Cedar Falls, and Jennifer (Shawn) Weber of Grundy Center, Iowa; seventeen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, step father, Arthur Juel and one daughter in law, Kristi Gibbs. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 20, 2012 at the United Methodist Church in New Hartford and burial will be in Oakhill Cemetery, both in New Hartford. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls and one hour before services at the church on Monday.
