Verda J Maag

Verda Jean Maag, 79, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, October 3, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Verda was born January 10, 1927 at Frederika, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Ruby (Whitman) O'Rourke. She married Warren G. Maag on June 29, 1947 at Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1998.

Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca (Kent) Anderson and Suzette (Richard) Fisher, all of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Kory) Schmidt, Joel Anderson, Ben (Crystal) Anderson, Emily Anderson, Shawn (Mindy) Fisher, Adam Fisher and Jeff Fisher; and three great grandchildren, Austin and Alex Schmidt, and Noah Anderson.  Verda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, and a grandson.

Funeral services will be 1:30 pm Friday, October 6, 2006, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Friday. Memorials may be directed to the church.
