Vera Roxanne "Roxie" Miller Dow unexpectedly passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023. She was born on January 3, 1968 to her proud parents Robert and Patricia Miller, joining her older brothers Shane and Rick. She and Chris Dow were married in February 17, 1989, and they were the parents to Banjo, a chocolate labrador.

Roxie was an animal lover, but especially loved dogs. Her babies were the most spoiled and loved. She loved gardening, and worked hard every year to make unique displays incorporating antiques as well.

Roxie loved "junk", she saw beauty and value in things others may have looked past. She spent many weekends going to flea markets, garage and estate sales finding treasures. She turned this hobby into a business, selling antiques, books and collectibles on Ebay and took pride in the many positive reviews from customers she'd sold to. Roxie and her mom worked together on creative projects, one of the most recent were beautiful thrifted jewelry collages.

Roxie had a great sense of humor, she always had something quick and witty to say and enjoyed a good prank, her laugh will not be forgotten. She took many photos, and for years put stickers of jokes on the prints and sent them to friends and family. When photos were mainly digital she got a laugh from making large prints and gifts from funny photos.

She loved to shop, and for many years played the role of a secret elf helping her mom find personal gifts for family members when she was unable to shop for herself anymore. Roxie had a generous heart, especially when it came to children.

Roxie is survived by her husband Chris of Waterloo, brothers Shane (Andrea) Miller of Cedar Falls, IA and Rick (Jodie) Miller of Waterloo, IA, and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins whom she cared for greatly. She was met in Heaven by her parents, grandparents and dogs Bo, Blake, Brandy, Bear and Bullet.

The Celebration of Life for Roxie will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, December 18 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 PM on Sunday, December 17 at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home; resuming at 9:30 AM on Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
