Valborg H Timmer

VALBORG H. TIMMER was born June 27, 1915, in rural Dike, Iowa, the daughter of Peter Anton and Marie (Christiansen) Christiansen. She married Fred Timmer on January 8, 1938 at Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1992. Valborg was a 1934 graduate of Dike Community High School. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband for many years. Valborg died Monday, October 30, 2000, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls, Iowa, at 85 years of age.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolynn Messer and her husband John of Scottsdale, Arizona; two grandchildren, Cheri Hodges of Scottsdale, Arizona and Steven Messer of Pine, Arizona; a sister, Paula Sells and her husband Louie of Grundy Center, Iowa, as well as nieces and nephews.  Valborg was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a brother, Carl Christiansen and a niece, Linda Gabbard.

Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2000, at Fredsville Lutheran Church, with burial at Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery, both in rural Cedar Falls.  Memorials may be directed to the church.
