Tracy Allen Rokes, 56, of Cedar Falls, passed away from a sudden illness on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, while vacationing in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born July 13, 1961 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Al and Dotty (Zirat) Rokes. Tracy married Delonna Ostendorf in 1990. Together they raised three daughters in Cedar Falls. Tracy was a 1979 graduate of Cedar Falls High School and earned his B.A. degree from the University of Northern Iowa, where he fulfilled his dream of playing football for the Panthers. He owned and operated Rokes Construction Inc., and oversaw the completion of several major construction projects. Tracy enjoyed playing and watching football, riding his motorcycle, golfing, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his boisterous laughter, his ability to tell a good story, being a loyal friend and a proud dad to his girls.
Tracy is survived by his wife of 27 years, Delonna Rokes, of Cedar Falls; his three daughters, Alexis (25), Natalie (22), and Miranda (18); his mother, Dotty Rokes, of Cedar Falls, and his father-in-law, Gene Ostendorf, of Rockford, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father and his mother-in-law, Frances Ostendorf.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
