Thomas "Tom" W. Abbas

Thomas "Tom" W. Abbas, 71, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. He was born April 3, 1945 in Mason City, Iowa, the son of George and Alice (Thompson) Abbas. Tom married Rebecca "Becky" A. Wade on January 29, 1966 in Soldier, Iowa. He graduated from Kanawha High School in 1963 and attended the University of Northern Iowa. Tom owned Can-Am Engineering in Cedar Falls, Investment Tool & Die in New Hampton, Iowa and H & H Machine Tool in Cedar Falls, retiring in 2005.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Abbas, of Waterloo; two sons, Sean (Kim) Abbas of Cedar Falls and Benjamin (Emily) Abbas of Iowa City, Iowa, and six grandchildren, Austin Abbas, Kelsey (Brent Schreibel) Abbas, and Cora, Lucy, Sadie and Alice Abbas.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, his twin Robert Abbas and David Abbas.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, with inurnment at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
