THEODORA "Dora" DILLON was born March 16, 1906 at Rockwell, Iowa the daughter of Gabriel and Martha (Klawin) Ziegler. She married Roland Kammeier on December 21, 1925 at Mason City, Iowa. She married Byron Dillon October 4, 1980 at Cedar Falls, Iowa. He preceded her in death on August 22, 1991. Dora graduated from Hamilton's Business College in Mason City and was then employed as a secretary with the Studebaker Co. in South Bend, Indiana and later with Central National Bank in Des Moines, Iowa. She died Saturday, June 19, 1999 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home at the age of 93 years.
Survivors include her son, Roland Kammeier and his wife, Nancy, of Rocky River, Ohio; her daughter, Virginia Lechelt and her husband, Merrill, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; four grandchildren, David Lechelt, Dianne Saak, Curtis Kammeier, Katie Preece; eight great-grandchildren, Jennifer Huckbody, Katie Steinke, Evan Preece, Madeline Preece, Lindsey Kammeier, Kristen Kammeier, Heather Lechelt, Tristan Lechelt; and two great-great-grandchildren, Collin Huckbody and Simon Steinke. Dora was preceded in death by one brother, Paul Ziegler and four sisters, Elsie Harrenstein, Elinora Dirks, Rosena Voelk, and Hazel Bless.
Funeral services were 10:00 a.m.Tuesday, June 22, 1999 at the Lutheran Home Chapel with burial in Barnes City Cemetery, Barnes City, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Lutheran Home.
