THELMA I. PATTERSON STEVENS
was born January 6, 1925 in Aredale, Iowa, the daughter of William and Emma (Ubben) Patterson. She married John D. Stevens on September 28, 1946 in Aredale. He preceded her in death on October 31, 1993. Thelma worked in the laundry department at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and Ravenwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, both in Waterloo, Iowa. She died Thursday, December 5, 2002 at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, at 77 years of age.
Thelma is survived by her son, Mike (Angela) Stevens of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Lynette Opperman and Stephanie Stevens, both of Waterloo and Eric Schumacher of Cedar Falls, Iowa; two great-grandchildren, Brittany and Tyler Opperman; tow brothers, Victor Patterson of Los Angeles, California and Lavern (Evelyn) Patterson of Cedar Falls, and a twin sister, Velma Patterson of Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents, and a daughter, Carol Schumacher.
Funeral services were 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, 2002, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with burial at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial fund will be established.
