Thea Joy Streittmatter

Thea Joy Streittmatter, 81, of Waterloo, passed away at UPH/Allen Hospital on Friday, October 27, 2023.  She was born August 12, 1942, in Waterloo, daughter of Nathan and Esther (Erdmann) Streittmatter.  Thea was a faithful lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church who participated in Bible study and rarely ever missed a worship service.  She was baptized August 31, 1942, and confirmed March 25, 1956, at Immanuel by Rev. W.D. Oetting.  Thea worked for a variety of employers through the years including Varsity Cleaners.  She also volunteered as a bell ringer for the Salvation Army in her younger years.

Thea was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leslie Streittmatter; and half-brothers, Willis (Dorothy) Renz and Loren (Julie) Renz.  She is survived by her nieces and nephews; and her Immanuel Lutheran family.

Thea's Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4320 Oster Parkway, Cedar Falls with burial to follow at Waterloo Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran.
