TERRY L. KROESE, 53, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at his home of natural causes. Terry was born June 9, 1953 in Sheldon, Iowa, the son of Arnold & Rita (Bleasdell) Kroese. He married Martha Ratcliff November 1, 1986 in Janesville. Terry received his B.A., his M.A., and his Administrative Certificate from the University of Northern Iowa. He taught at Lytton, Iowa for two years, Boyden-Hull, Iowa for one year, and at many buildings for the Waterloo School District for 29 years, most recently as Assistant Principal at West High School and as District Instrumental Music Facilitator. Terry was also the organist and Director of Music at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls for 28 years and played with Bill Shepherd and with other local bands. Terry was a member of the Iowa Bandmasters Association, the American Guild of Organists, the Elk's Club, School Administrators of Iowa as well as other professional organizations, and was the Adjudicator of Iowa High School Music Association.

Survivors include his wife, Martha, of Cedar Falls; his parents, Arnold & Rita Kroese of Sheldon; and his brother, Ronald Kroese of Omaha, Nebraska. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 at Nazareth Lutheran Church under the auspices of First United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and for one hour prior to service time at the church on Monday. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church or the UNI School of Music.
