TERRY D.
GILMORE, 61, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, August 11, 2005, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. He was born June 25, 1944 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Donavon M. and Esther H. (Nievas) Gilmore. Terry married Linda Williams on February 22, 1968 at the Old Wartburg Chapel in Waverly, Iowa. He served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and received his economics degree from the University of Northern Iowa. Terry was an insurance claims adjuster for many years with United Fire and Casualty in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife, Linda, of Cedar Falls; his son, Chad A. Gilmore of Baltimore, Maryland; a sister, Susan K. (George) DeGroote of Cedar Falls; a brother-in-law, Jeffrey G. (Kim) Marsh of Hudson, Iowa; a nephew, Brandon (Jasmine) Marsh; four nieces, Melissa & Sarah Marsh, Christine (Dan) McGrath, and Crystal Nicole DeGroote (friend Trevor Burns); a great-nephew, Sean McGrath; two great-nieces, Erin McGrath and Zoey Nicole Burns; and best friend, Jim Sale.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Stacey C. Gilmore.
Memorial services were 10:00 am Monday, August 15, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. Military rites were conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Lung Association.
