Teresa D Corwin

Teresa D. Corwin, 51, of Cedar Falls, died from a brief illness after a courageous battle with leukemia, on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born August 22, 1957 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Kathryn (Roark) Minikus. Teresa married Chester Corwin, and they later divorced. She was a graduate of Cedar Falls High School and was a mother and homemaker. Teresa also worked at Twin Oaks Print & Framing for many years and was a teller at US Bank.

Survivors include two sons, Chad (Sara) Corwin of Rosemont, Minnesota and Bryan (Aimee) Corwin of Waterloo; two daughters, Astonia Corwin of Boone, Iowa and Nicole (Mark Styve) Corwin of Waterloo; five grandchildren, Maria Peterson, A'Kari & A'Lana Ferguson, Megan Corwin and Isaiah Corwin; two sisters, Diann Blitsch of Oelwein, Iowa and Sharon (Ken) Loftus of Evansdale, Iowa, and her step-mother, Eva Minikus, of Waterloo.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald F. Minikus.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2009, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, with burial at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be 5—8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, where a 5:00 pm rosary service and a 7:00 vigil service will be conducted. Visitation also one hour before service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
