Sylvia Charlene Huntley

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dearly loved wife and mother Sylvia Huntley, who passed away on October 22, 2024, at the age of 84.  She had a beautiful spirit and was a devoted wife and mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Sylvia was a strong woman of undeniable character and unwavering faith.  Her warm smile and generosity were ever present as she shared her life's teachings with her loved ones.

Sylvia spent 65 wonderful years beside her husband, Seldon.  Together, inseparable, they worked and played side by side on a variety of ventures in addition to their respective jobs while raising four children.  After retirement, Sylvia volunteered by spending many an hour knitting items for those struck by illness, homelessness or scarcity.  She was also a talented artist, amazing cook and "green thumb" gardener.

Her oldest daughter, Kathy, precedes Sylvia in death; as well as her brother, Denny; step-brother, Dewey; and her grandson, Jake.  Her remaining immediate family includes her beloved husband, Seldon; children: Bill (wife, Brenda), Jim (wife, Donna), Judy (husband, Chuck) and Floyd (husband to Kathy); 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Those who knew Sylvia will remember her with great love and fondness.  Beautiful memories of time spent and special moments shared will warm our hearts until we meet again.  She will be buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in New Hartford in a private service.  In 2025, there will be a Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends.  No date has been determined at this time.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to the American Stroke Association or any charity that supports stroke patients and their families.
