Suzanne L. Andre

Suzanne L. Andre, 63, of Waterloo, died Monday, August 20, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. She was born June 27, 1949 in Estherville, Iowa, the daughter of John and Nancy (Nilsen) Blair. Suzanne married John Andre August 4, 1979, in Lake Park, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa, receiving her teaching certificate and her masters degree in special education. She taught school in Remsen, Cherokee, and Waterloo, Iowa before joining the staff at the Area Education Agency in Cedar Falls. She served as an Educational Strategist, a Special Education Consultant, and a Consultant Supervisor during her 32 years at the AEA, retiring in 2007. Survivors include her husband, John Andre, of Waterloo; two sons, Brad Andre of Cedar Falls and Nick Andre of Waterloo; one granddaughter, Hailey; her mother, Nancy Blair, of Cedar Falls; two sisters, Billie (Rob) Kastens and Marilee Blair, both of Ft. Collins, Colorado, and two nephews, Rob Kastens of Nevada and Tom Kastens of Texas. Suzanne was preceded in death by her father and two brothers, Gary and John Blair. Services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with inurnment at Fairview Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls.
