Sue Ann McCoskey

Sue Ann McCoskey, 80, of Cedar Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 20, 2026. She was born February 19, 1946 in Cedar Falls, daughter of John and Dorothy (Mayo) Wright. Sue graduated from Cedar Falls High School in 1964, then studied at Waterloo School of Beauty Culture. She worked for Pitze’s Salon following graduation and married Leroy Minks in 1967. To this union was born daughter, Michele, though the couple later divorced. Sue, then, married Port Henry Beattie, Jr. in 1972 in Las Vegas, but they later divorced following the loss of a newborn son. She was united in marriage to Steven McCoskey in May of 2001. Though they didn’t stay married, they remained friends.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Port Henry Beattie, III. She is survived by her daughter, Michele (Chris) Figone of Sunnyvale, California; grandson, Nathan Figone of Sunnyvale, CA; sister, Kaye (Robert) Huff of Waterloo; 2 nephews, Geoff Huff of Ames, IA and Robert Francis “Bart” Huff, Jr. of Chicago, IL; her former husband, Steve McCoskey; and beloved extended family and dear friends.

Sue was cremated and will be inurned at Greenwood Cemetery of Cedar Falls at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family care of the funeral home for future designation.

Susan loved to line dance with her daughter at Coyotes in Cedar Falls. She also enjoyed following and keeping up with the latest fashion trends.
