Stephen Veatch

Stephen E. Veatch, 75, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, September 14, 2015 at his home. He was born November 30, 1939 in Ellsworth, Kansas, the son of Harold and Elsie (Engel) Veatch. Stephen worked for Lutheran Brotherhood for over 25 years in insurance sales. He served on the board of the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, Fredsville Lutheran Church and was a member of Life Underwriters. Survivors include five sons, Scott (Jan) Veatch of Bloomington, Minnesota, Robert Veatch of Dassel, Minnesota, Dale Veatch of Sioux City, Iowa, Daryl (Yuki) Veatch of Cedar Falls and Tim Veatch of Johnston, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; one brother, Chuck (Fran) Veatch of Manhattan, Kansas; and two sisters, Cindy (Gale) Scanlon of WaKeeney, Kansas and Leatha (Charlie) Beaver of Olathe, Kansas. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Fredsville Lutheran Church, rural Cedar Falls. Inurnment will be at Fredsville Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org/donate.
