Stanley Brown

Stanley I. Brown, 91, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, October 10, 2016 at Pinnacle Specialty Care in Cedar Falls. He was born December 26, 1924 in Black Hawk County, Iowa, the son of Peter & Inger (Hansen) Brown. He married Ruth E. Wright July 25, 1947 in Cedar Falls. She preceded him in April 24, 2015. Stan graduated from Waverly High School and worked as a carpenter for forty years retiring in 1986.

Survivors include his brother, Don Brown of Waverly, two sisters-in-law, Alice Baldwin of Cedar Falls and Helen Olejniczak of Charles City, and several nieces and nephews.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents and wife; one brother, Harold Brown; his sister, Vernita Larsen; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with burial at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family.
