Stanley Boyer

Stanley Dean Boyer, 79, of Janesville, Iowa, died Sunday, January 10, 2016, at the Western Home Communities Elizabeth Martin Health Center in Cedar Falls. He was born November 16, 1936 near Elgin, Iowa, the son of Herman and Julia (Barnhouse) Boyer. Stan married Barbara Yearous on July 25, 1959 at Illyria Community Church in Elgin. Stan graduated from Elgin High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a mail carrier for 34 years, retiring in 1992, and later was a tree farmer for many years. Stan was a member of Finchford Community Bible Church.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Boyer, of Janesville; a son, Neil (Lori) Boyer, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Lynn (James) Rohrer of Silver Spring, Maryland and Denise (Thelonious) Key of Des Moines, Iowa; six grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Stan was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and a brother.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016, at Finchford Community Bible Church, with inurnment at Finchford Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 5—7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the church or the Michael J.
