STAN W. SWINGEN, 59, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.  He was born October 16, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of William and Thelma (Christiansen) Swingen.  Stan married Marigene Walters on April 18, 1964 in Waterloo.  He was a graduate of Waterloo West High School and worked for 36 years at Clay Equipment Company in Cedar Falls. Stan served as a Black Hawk County Reserve Deputy Sheriff for several years and was an avid sportsman.  He enjoyed fishing at Black Hawk Park, watching rodeo events, especially bull riding, and being with his family. Survivors include his wife, Marigene, of Cedar Falls; his mother, Thelma Ankeny of Waterloo; four sons, Stan (Sue) Swingen, Jr. of Allison, Iowa, Tracy Swingen of Waterloo, Ed (Michelle) Swingen of Waterloo, and B.J. Swingen of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Tammy Swingen of Boston, Massachusetts; nine grandchildren, Kelly Luchtenburg, Amanda Luchtenburg, Megan Swingen, Rose Swingen, Cory Luchtenburg, Cody Swingen, Trevor Swingen, and Alex and Andi Baker; a great-grandchild, Jasmin Edwards; and two brothers, Donald (Caroline) Swingen of Mason City, Iowa and Richard Swingen of Waterloo.  Stan was preceded in death by his father.

Funeral services were 10:30 am Monday, July 18, 2005, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls, with interment at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to Black Hawk Park in Cedar Falls.
