Solveig Gregory, 69, of Cedar Falls, died Monday, January 31, 2011, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home.  She was born July 5, 1941 in Ringsted, Iowa, the daughter of Rev. Harold and Ardis (Nielsen) Petersen.  Solveig married Larry Gregory on June 23, 1963 in Askov, Minnesota.  Solveig graduated from Askov, Minnesota High School, graduated from Grand View College in Des Moines, and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) with a BA in English and a minor in Music.  She was an organist and Director of Music at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls for over thirty years and taught piano for fifty years.  Solveig was an English teacher with the Cedar Falls School System and taught at Morton West High School in Berwyn, Illinois.  She was a member for many years of P.E.O. Chapter FV, T.T.T. Chapter EM, Grand View University Board of Trustees, and the Iowa Music Teachers Association.  Solveig was also a member of The American Guild of Organists, The Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, Women of the ELCA, Sartori Auxiliary, the Cedar Valley Danes, and numerous other organizations.  She was a longtime member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and was an avid UNI Panther fan.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Gregory, of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Kirsten (Todd) Kelly of Peoria, Illinois and Karen (Eric) Dowell of Cedar Falls; four grandchildren, Connor and Maren Kelly of Peoria and Mitchell and Kayla Dowell of Cedar Falls, and a sister, Asta (Arlen) Twedt, of Ankeny, Iowa.

Solveig was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Rev. Paul Petersen.

Services will be 1:30 pm Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Cedar Falls, with inurnment at Elmwood Cemetery, Dike, Iowa.  Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home Main St. Project, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, or Grand View University, Des Moines.
