Skip Payne

Arden "Skip" Payne, 76, of Hudson, passed away at his home on Friday, September 20, 2024. He was born in Bluffton, IN, to Garth and Fern (Shadle) Payne on November 22, 1947. At age 9, Skip moved to Minnesota with his family. He graduated from high school in 1967. On June 25, 1997, Skip married Kathy Weber.

Skip was a truck driver and farm hand all of his life. He loved being in the field farming and could fix almost anything that was broken. He enjoyed going to and watching tractor pulls, watching college basketball, Westerns, and farm shows.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Garth and Fern Payne; wife, Kathy Payne; two sisters, Nondes and Sondra Payne; and brother, Verlis Payne. Skip is survived by his daughter, Nicole (Christopher) Thomas; four grandchildren, Caleb, Kelsey, Logan (Jordan), and Makenna; sister, Tess Thompson-Klesner (Clarence Klesner); and many nieces and nephews.

Skip's celebration of life will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, September 25, 2024 with a visitation an hour prior at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home in Cedar Falls. An inurnment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
