SIGNE L. JENNINGS, 91, of Cedar Falls, Iowa died Tuesday, September 18, 2001, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. She was born July 1, 1910 in Sherwood, North Dakota, the daughter of Gudbrand and Bertha (Eittreim) Esval. Signe married Philip C. Jennings on March 18, 1933 in Ames, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1992. She was a member of Chapter FV-PEO, the 19th Century Club, Sartori Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a board member at Goodwill Industries.
Signe is survived by her daughter, Natalie J. Thatcher of Boise, Idaho; five grandchildren, Clint Brammer, Ginger Watkins, Michael Thatcher, Bradley Thatcher and Anne MacConnell; four great-grandchildren and a sister, Gladys Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents; a son, Philip C. Jennings, Jr. and a brother, Orland Esval.
Memorial services were 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 20, 2001, at the Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Inurnment was at Fairview Cemetery in Cedar Falls. Memorials may be directed to the University of Northern Iowa or Iowa State University Foundation for the Jennings Memorial Scholarship Funds.
