Sharon June "Shari" Thompson, 75, of Cedar Falls, died at home Sunday, July 16, 2017. She was born June 21, 1942 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Vernon and Joye (Powell) Parsons. Shari married Donald F. Thompson on April 15, 1961 in Waterloo. She was a secretary at Schoitz Hospital's Emergency Room Dept. for several years, later worked at dress shops in the area, and then stayed at home to take care of her family.
Shari is survived by her husband, Donald Thompson, of Cedar Falls; two sons, Bradley D. (Cynthia) Thompson of Lenexa, Kansas and Bret L. (Regina) Thompson of Waterloo; three grandchildren, Emma, Ian and Owen Thompson; a brother, Gaylord (Sharon) Parsons, of O'Fallon, Missouri, and two sisters, Linda (Paul) Price of Traer, Iowa and Christina (Wayne) Stalzer of Midland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Barbara Reisinger.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017, at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, with burial at Garden of Memories in Waterloo. Visitation will be 4—7:00 p.m. Friday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, and one hour before service at the church. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Cedar Valley Hospice. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com .
