Sharon Gilbert

Sharon D. Gilbert, 80, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Monday, January 11, 2016, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. Sharon was born December 31, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Albert Homer & Beulah Maude (Hett) Eriksen. She married Orrin "Gil" Gilbert October 15, 1955 in Cedar Falls. He preceded her in death December 31, 2013. Sharon worked as a waitress for many years and then was a baker at the University of Northern Iowa from 1970 to 2001.

Survivors include her son, Jerome Kent (Christina) Gilbert, of Le Grand, Iowa; two grandchildren, Amanda Gilbert-Heyl and Sarah Gilbert; three great grandchildren, Lilly George, William George VII, and Jaylen R. George; her brother, Erik (Jolene) Eriksen, of Pleasant Hill, Iowa and her sister, Carol Vaughn, of Denver, Colorado.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery.
