Sean Michael Linck

Sean Michael Linck, 49, of Cedar Falls, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 16, 2024. He was born in Cedar Falls on March 18, 1975, son of Jon and Suzanne (Hays) Linck. Sean graduated from NU High School with the Class of 1993 where he had been active in football, basketball and track. A gifted artist, he attended the University of Northern Iowa where he received a BA in Art and, later, an MA in Leisure Services. Sean married Lindsay Olson in 2009 and they had two children together, though later divorced. He also served in the U.S Coast Guard.

Sean was preceded in death by his father; his nephew, Sam Linck; and a cousin, Nathan. He is survived by his mother, Sue Linck of Cedar Falls; children, Charlotte and William of Cedar Falls; his brother, Chad (Yvette) Linck of Cedar Falls; a niece, Morgan Linck; and 6 aunts, 8 uncles, cousins and friends.

Sean's family is planning a Celebration of Life social gathering at the Cedar Falls Eagle's Club from 4-7:00 pm on Friday, September 13, 2024, with a short Memorial Service at 5:00 pm for those who wish to attend followed by additional social time. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to his family.

Sean was a loving son and his children were the light of his life. He leaves behind a collection of his amazing charcoal sketches and portraits. In recent years, Sean's escape from life's trials was found running and working out at the Cedar Falls Rec Center. He is at peace now.
