RUTH K. SCOGGIN, 89, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, January 25, 2007, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls. She was born October 20, 1917 in Parkersburg, Iowa, the daughter of Rient and Harmeka (Kruse) Peters. Ruth married Clarence Scoggin on February 9, 1952 in Nashua, Iowa. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1979. Ruth worked for forty years in the Food Service Department at the University of Northern Iowa, retiring in 1982.
Survivors include her sister, Amanda Sorensen, of Cedar Falls; five nephews, Dave (Cindy) Peters, Robert (Cindy) Peters, Dennis (Linda) Peters, Marlyn (Inez) Peters and Eldon (Gena) Peters; two nieces, Susan (David) Wishard and Margaret Ann Hart, and a sister-in-law, Esther Peters, of Cedar Falls. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband; five brothers, Fred, Claus, Raymond, Vernon and Robert Peters, and three sisters, Cora Harken, Annie Block and Margelet Peters.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, January 27, 2007, at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home, with interment at Greenwood Cemetery, both in Cedar Falls. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls and Christian Crusaders.
